Muere a los 44 años Benoit Violier, el “mejor chef del mundo”
El chef Benoit Violier, cuyo restaurant en Suiza fue nombrado el mejor del mundo este diciembre, fue encontrado sin vida en su casa.
Violier, de 44 años, operaba el Restaurant de l´Hotel de Ville, en Crissier, cerca de Lausana.
Recibió tres estrellas Michelin y se clasificó primero en La Liste de Francia, que cataloga los 1.000 mejores restaurantes del mundo.
La policía suiza dice que Violier, que nació en Francia, parece haberse suicidado de un tiro.
El sitio de noticias internet suizo 24 Heures informó que Violier tenía programado asistir al lanzamiento de una nueva guía Michelin, en París, este lunes.
“Brillante”
Su muerte sucede a casi seis meses del fallecimiento de Philippe Rochat, su mentor y predecesor en el Restaurant de l´Hotel de Ville.
Después de trabajar en ese establecimiento desde 1996, Violer tomó las riendas del restaurante con su esposa Brigitte, en 2012, antes de adoptar la nacionalidad suiza.
